From NASA – National Aeronautics and Space Administration ‘s Skylab program, which featured a space food menu inspired by various cuisines, to European Space Agency – ESA ‘s collaboration through CNES with renowned chefs like Ducasse Conseil to develop space-friendly recipes, gastronomy has played a pivotal role in space exploration. These historical examples serve as inspiration for O.L.Y.M.P.E as we enable culinary experiences that elevate the space travel journey to new heights.
Stratospheric Dining Experience:
Beyond the space pizza and space tacos (we invite you to type it on YouTube to see funny ways astronauts recreate their favorite meals with what’s on hand), one recent initiative that exemplifies the fusion of gastronomy and space travel is the Stratospheric Dining Experience with The MICHELIN Guide-starred Chef Rasmus Munk aboard Space Perspective ‘s Spaceship Neptune. This groundbreaking venture last month offered a multi-course meal broadly talked about. Similarly, Zephalto promises a similar experience in France in 2025.
